Monday is the big day.
Next week I start my new job as a professional Django developer, leaving the world of .NET behind. Not a moment too soon, but that's a rant best left for another day.
Ever since I downloaded the Django framework over a year ago, I've been a huge fan of all things Python and Django. Devouring every tutorial and book I could get my hands on. As cliche as it sounds; it's made web development fun again and I actually look forward to programming in it everyday!
Hopefully, I'll have more to post about now that I'll be engrossed in Django for the better part of my day. So far, my contributions to the community have been small; a few snippets on djangosnippets.org and a handful of tickets on code.djangoproject.com as well as hanging out in the Django irc channel when I get the chance.
Going forward, I plan to give back as much as I can. After all, Django has given me a lot, it's only fair that I return the favour.
